BARGAIN
Browsing works a little differently than other
classified services. We want BARGAIN Browsing to
be your source for finding local deals online
without being crowded and overwhelming like many
print and online classifieds. Our goal is to
provide you with a user friendly environment
that makes finding local deals online easy.
These questions apply mainly to residential
listings. If you are a business wishing to know
more about our Business Directory or banner ads,

Currently,
listing your classified is free.
Will I be charged after the free
period is over?
There
is absolutely no obligation to list again after
the free period. Your items will simply be
removed from BARGAIN Browsing and you will incur
no charges unless you choose to list with our
service by resubmitting your information.
Do I have to renew my listing?
During our introductory period, your
classified listing will remain on our site until
you notify us to have it removed
How much are listings after the
free period?
Listings
are currently FREE. After our introductory
period, you may choose
the listing time period that best suits your
needs. Choose either a 2 week listing or a 5
week listing. Individual items may be listed for
$10 for a 2 week period or $20 for a 5 week
period. Businesses wishing to advertise anything
other than an individual item, please see our
Business Owners link on the left navigation bar.
What if I don't want to submit
my information online?
You do not
have to use the email form on our site to submit
your information. If you feel more comfortable
sending your submission and picture in the mail,
simply click on the SNAIL MAIL button on the Add
Your Listing link at the top or bottom of the
page. Print the form, fill out the required
information, and mail it along with your photo
to the address indicated on the form. Be sure to
include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you
would like your photo returned.
How many items may I list per
ad?
Generally you may only include one item per ad.
If your item is part of a set or you are selling
several small items for less than $20 each, you
may list them as one ad. Just remember, there
can only be one picture per ad. BARGAIN Browsing
reserves the right to omit ads that do not
follow these guidelines.
What if my business wants to
list an ad?
We at
BARGAIN Browsing want to give businesses the
opportunity to showcase individual items.
Businesses are encouraged to list as many
individual items as desired. We know that home,
car and other sales can be highlighted on our
site when listed individually. Businesses may
only list one item per ad and may not use the
listing for the primary purpose of promoting
their business rather than the item for sale.
What is included in a
residential listing?
All
residential listings include a photo (if
submitted), the county to find the item, item
name, item description, and contact information.
Yard sale listings also include a link to a Map
Quest map of the address listed on the
submission. All email addresses included in the
contact information will also be directly linked
for instant email capabilities through your
personal email software.
How long can my ad be?
We at
BARGAIN Browsing want to give you the freedom to
list your ads in a way that will benefit your
ability to sale your items. Most classified
services limit you to 20 words or less. We ask
that descriptions be approximately 30 words or
less so all our users can benefit from the
service without tiring viewers with too much
information. If your item description is more
than 30 words, BARGAIN Browsing reserves the
right to condense larger descriptions at our
discretion.
Can I post more than one
picture in an ad?
No.
Due to limited space and the desire to be fair,
only one photo may be submitted per submission.
All photos are resized to fit our listing
template (approx. 200 x 175 pixels).
Do all yard sales have a map
link?
Yes. All
yard sales do have a map link. The quality of
the map for a specific address is dependant upon
the information available through Map Quest.
BARGAIN Browsing takes no responsibility for
addresses that do not have pinpointed maps on
Map Quest.
What happens if my items sales
before the listing period is over?
We at
BARGAIN Browsing are pleased to find out a sale
has been made. We also know that you need to
avoid constant calls and contacts regarding an
item you no longer have. Once your item has
sold, simply send us an email informing us of
the sale. You need to include your name and
contact information, as well as the item to be
removed. We will either completely remove the ad
from the site, or place a SOLD graphic on the
listing. Please allow 3 business days for your
email to be processed.
When are new listings posted?
During the
free listing period, ads are being posted daily.
Please allow 5 business days from the date your
submission is received to process your ad. After
the free listing period, all ads must be
received via email or snail mail by midnight
Friday to be posted on the following Wednesday.
All ads are online by noon every Wednesday.
What is the deadline for
submitting my information?
During the
free period, we suggest submitting your
information as quickly as possible to allow 5
business days for your classified to be posted. After the free listing period, all
ads must be received via email or snail mail by
midnight Friday to be posted on the following
Wednesday.
